I'm thinking of learning Joomla or Drupal. On first impressions Joomla looks more friendly so I'm leaning towards that.
If you've used either, could you let me know what the learning curve was like for whichever you used? If you've used both, which did you find easier to learn and/or has the most flexibility? And are there any significant pros and cons to consider (for example one is better designed for SEO or has a good SEO plugin)? |

I am making some considerations regarding my next project and a CMS seems to be the best fit. I am curious if anyone has any experience with either Joomla or Drupal and if so what was your experience? Would you recommend one over the other?

I like many features of drupal, but it's terminology (nodes and whatnot) and the usage of said nodes, is kinda hard for me to grasp, thus the learning curve is extremely high for me particularly. But it's an awesome CMS, with it's speed and versatility.

If you want to create a community or a network with a membership area, newsroom, forums, articles, input from external authors then Joomla is a good choice because it is made to be that way.Joomla gives you a lot of power in your hands and that is noticeable in the admin section where there are so many options that you get dizzy the first time you go in. It guides you by the hand while customizing the site and setting up the naviagation structure.
